Advances in Cybersecurity
Security breaches such as the Code Red, Sobig and MyDoom worms have cost several billion dollars to the global economy in recent years. Millions of residential computers are assumed to be “zombies,” taken over by attackers unbeknownst to their owners, organized into “bot-nets,” and used routinely for spamming everyone that uses the Internet. Denial of service attacks have been staged against major corporations that rely on network access, such as Twitter, Facebook, etc.
Join fellow I.T. professionals to hear from Dr. Susanne Wetzel, Hon. M.Eng. ’06, about new threats and responses.
Her bio is at http://www.cs.stevens.edu/~swetzel/

The Alumni Information Technology Club’s Mission: Help Stevens alumni who are I.T. professionals to advance their careers.
Membership is open to Stevens alumni and students in any of the following categories:
Alumni and graduate students working in software development, architecture, testing, bioinformatics, system security, wireless, data centers, and in other similar areas.
Alumni seeking a career change into this industry.
Alumni who are suppliers of equipment and services to this industry.
Undergraduate juniors and seniors interested in the I.T. career field.
The current difficult economic environment has greatly impacted I.T. professionals, particularly here in New Jersey. While we can not create jobs, we can provide a forum for alumni to help one another both now and when better times return.
Meetings will focus on networking among your peers and hearing from experts in your field.
Alert other alumni and students to join our club on StevensConnect at
