We invite you to a delicious lunch at the Officer’s Club featuring a presentation by Angela Leimkuhler Moran, Ph.D. and professor of Mechanical Engineering at the United States Naval Academy. Dr. Moran will highlight her involvement with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) program. Jennifer Kehl Waters, M.Eng. DIRECTIONS
The Naval Academy is located in downtown Annapolis. Traffic can be heavy on warm days so arrive a bit early to get through security and park.
From Baltimore and DC take 50E towards Annapolis. Take exit 24, Rowe Blvd. (MD-70S) towards Annapolis (bears right). At 1.1 miles, left onto Taylor Ave. At stop sign on top of hill (0.2 mi), right onto Annapolis St. Next light (0.2 mi), right onto King George Dr. Continue on King George until it dead ends into the main gate (Gate 1) of the Naval Academy. You will be greeted by a Marine, so have your driver’s license handy!
From 50W, to Annapolis, take exit 24, MD-70S/ Rowe Blvd., towards Annapolis and then follow the same directions above.
PARKING
To drive onto the Academy campus for the
event,
WE MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING IN ADVANCE:
Car Info:
1. Year
2. Make
3. Model
4. Color
5. License Plate Number/State
This information will be at Gate 1 when you enter, which authorizes you on campus with your vehicle. You must then go to the Visitor’s Center and pick up your temporary vehicle permit. The visitor’s center is immediately on the right after you pass through Gate 1.
I would strongly suggest getting a map at the visitor’s center and asking them the best route to the Officer’s Club. It’s not obvious, so please ask for directions upon arrival. There is a parking lot near the Officer’s Club.
Other notes: There is a short walk from the Officer’s Club to the Hydromechanics Lab. If anyone has Handicapped Needs, please let us know in advance so we can plan an alternate route to the lab. The lab itself is not handicapped accessible.
