Dr. Laccetti Calling
Pick up your term papers, and share memories

By Beth Kissinger
Editor, Alumni Publications

Dr. Silvio Laccetti, Hon. M.Eng. ’96, longtime Stevens professor of humanities, retired in 2008 after 40 years of teaching at Stevens. Recently, he unearthed a treasure trove of term papers from his students, from the period 1968 to 1979.

The term papers—which are graded—are available for alumni who would like to have them and, Dr. Laccetti says, enjoy them with their children and grandchildren.

Alumni wishing to have their term papers returned should contact the Stevens Alumni Office at (201) 216-5161.

Dr. Laccetti has additional papers in his files—all official reports that were done by students who worked with The Hoboken Recreation Survey, The Hoboken Quality of Life Survey, The Drug Abuse Education Program, The Hudson County Charter Study and the various Aldrin Fellowships. Some 15 to 20 students participated in these activities.

All of this material will be organized and donated to the Special Collections Room of the Williams Library at Stevens.

Meanwhile, Dr. Laccetti is also asking students to share their “Favorite Laccetti” stories with him, for his memory book. Alumni can e-mail Dr. Laccetti at slaccett@stevens.edu, or send their memories to: Beth Kissinger, Stevens Alumni Association, Castle Point, Hoboken, NJ 07030. Beth will then forward the letters to Dr. Laccetti.

Finally, “Doc” Laccetti is meeting as many old friends as possible for lunch or dinner. E-mail or call him if you’re interested, (201) 216-5392
